<p>Roasting consists of thermal gas-solid reactions, which can include oxidation, reduction, chlorination, sulfation, and pyrohydrolysis.  In roasting, the ore or ore concentrate is treated with very hot air.  This process is generally applied to <a href="page.php?w=sulfide_mineral">sulfide mineral</a>s.
