<p>  The LSGF G(0,L) in this equation reduces smoothly and automatically to the CGF for large enough x as terms O(1/x<sup>4</sup>) become  gradually small and negligible.   This ensures the seamless linkage of the atomistic <a href="page.php?w=length_scale">length scale</a> to the macroscopic continuum scale.</p>
