Norn shared many traits with the dialects of southwest <a href="page.php?w=Norway">Norway</a>. That includes a voicing of  to  after vowels and (in the Shetland dialect but only partially in the Orkney dialect) a conversion of  and  ("<b>th</b>ing" and "<b>th</b>at" respectively) to  and  respectively.</p>
