Some authors suggest that odontoblasts play an additional role as sensory cells able to <a href="page.php?w=Transduction_%28physiology%29">transduce</a> pain signals to the nerve endings. According to the hypothesis, reelin participates in the process by enhancing the contact between odontoblasts and the nerve terminals.</p>
