<p>For the Census of <a href="page.php?w=India">India</a> 2011, the definition of urban area is a place having a minimum population of 5,000 of density 400 /km2 or higher, and 75% plus of the male working population employed in non-agricultural activities. Places administered by a municipal corporation, cantonment board or notified town area committee are automatically considered urban areas.</p><p>
