In 1985 the US Department of Defense awarded STOP 2.1 an A1 security classification.  The SCOMP and its STOP operating system eventually evolved via XTS-200 and XTS-300 into current <a href="page.php?w=XTS-400">XTS-400</a> offering of secure operating systems.</p>
