<p>There are four types of nematocysts in siphonophore tentilla: heteronemes, haplonemes, desmonemes, and rhopalonemes. Heteronemes are the largest nematocysts and are spines on a shaft close to tubules attached to the center of the siphonophore. Haplonemes have open-tipped tubules with spines, but no distinct shaft.
