<p>There are several structures that are repeatedly used in distributed-element circuits.  Some of the common ones are described below.</p>

<p><big> Stub </big></p>
<p>A stub is a short length of line that branches to the side of a main line. The end of the stub is often left open- or short-circuited, but may also be terminated with a lumped component.
