<p>Bottom-up controls, on the other hand, are driven by producers in the ecosystem. If plant populations change, then the population of all species would be impacted.</p>

<p>For example, if plant populations decreased significantly, the herbivore populations would decrease, which would lead to a carnivore population decreasing too.
