<p>The teeth are quite small for an australopithecine, and are more within the range of those of early Homo. However, unlike Homo, the molars progressively increase in size towards the back of the mouth--as opposed to the second molar being the largest--and the cusps are more closely spaced together.</p>

<p>The shape of the <a href="page.php?w=mandibular_ramus">mandibular ramus</a> (the bar which connects the jaw to the skull) is quite different between MH1 and MH2. That of MH1 is taller and wider; the front and back border are nearly vertical</p><p>
