<p>Consanguinity in a population increases its susceptibility to many infectious <a href="page.php?w=pathogen">pathogen</a>s such as <a href="page.php?w=tuberculosis">tuberculosis</a> and <a href="page.php?w=hepatitis">hepatitis</a>, but may decrease its susceptibility to <a href="page.php?w=malaria">malaria</a> and some other pathogens.</p>
