FBI establishes the Behavioral Science Unit. Special agents John M. "Jack" Kirsch and Eugene "Crick" Crickenberger were tasked by Director Hoover in 1972 to form the unit, which was originally made of eleven agents, in response to the rising wave of sexual assault and homicide during the early 1970s.
