<p>The Pennsylvania Special was one of nine express trains the PRR operated between New York City and Chicago. On November 14, 1912, the PRR renamed it the Broadway Limited, to avoid confusion with the similarly named Pennsylvania Limited. The name, though spelled as "Broadway", honored the PRR's four-track "broad way" main line.
