<p>which has the remains of an old fort belonging to the Nagavanshis. However, Ambrish Gautam calls this interpretation as historically weak and speculative. Gautam, based on the writings of Walter Hamilton, argues that British officials likely added the prefix "Chota"  in the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries to distinguish this plateau region from the larger Nagpur ruled by the <a href="page.php?w=Bhonsle_dynasty">Bhonsle Marathas</a> in Central India. Similar interpretation has also been presented by scholars Seema Mamta Minz and Prerna</p><p>
