<p>In Cratylus' eponymous Platonic dialogue, the character of Socrates states Heraclitus' claim that one cannot step twice into the same stream.  According to Aristotle, Cratylus went a step beyond his master's doctrine and proclaimed that it cannot even be done once.</p>
