<p>Wales was divided between the <a href="page.php?w=Principality_of_Wales">Principality of Wales</a> and many feudal territories called the <a href="page.php?w=marcher_Lord">marcher Lord</a>ships, which were effectively unified under the laws. The English system of county government was also extended across all of Wales.</p>
