<p>Since the beginning of computer networks, there has been a persistent need for <a href="page.php?w=Client_%28Computing%29">client</a> systems which can <a href="page.php?w=Bootstrapping">boot</a> appropriate software images, with appropriate configuration parameters, both retrieved at boot time from one or more network <a href="page.php?w=Server_%28computing%29">servers</a>.
