In the Prose Edda and in a single poem in the Poetic Edda, the event is referred to as , a usage popularised by 19th-century composer <a href="page.php?w=Richard_Wagner">Richard Wagner</a> with the title of the last of his <a href="page.php?w=Der_Ring_des_Nibelungen">Der Ring des Nibelungen</a></p><p>
