<p>The species B. napus <a href="page.php?w=Triangle_of_U">originated</a> as a hybrid between the <a href="page.php?w=cabbage">cabbage</a> (B. oleracea) and the turnip (B. rapa).  Rutabaga roots are eaten as human food in various ways, and the leaves can be eaten as a <a href="page.php?w=leaf_vegetable">leaf vegetable</a>.
