<p>Modern unparished areas (also termed "non-civil parish areas"), were created in 1965 in London and in 1974 elsewhere. They generally arose where former <a href="page.php?w=Urban_district_%28Great_Britain_and_Ireland%29">urban district</a>s, <a href="page.php?w=municipal_borough">municipal borough</a>s or <a href="page.php?w=county_boroughs">county boroughs</a></p><p>
