Despite the availability of enabling technologies, the dashboard use didn't become popular until later in that decade, with the rise of <a href="page.php?w=key_performance_indicators">key performance indicators</a> (KPIs), and the introduction of Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton's <a href="page.php?w=balanced_scorecard">balanced scorecard</a>.</p><p>
