Robert Shafer classified Gurung within the <a href="page.php?w=Tibeto-Kanauri_languages">Bodic division</a>, sub-grouping that into <a href="page.php?w=Bodish_languages">Bodish</a> and <a href="page.php?w=West_Himalayish_languages">West Central Himalayish</a>.</p><p>
