Judah ben Samuel of Regensburg, during the Golden Age of al-Andalus (Spain). This included the Zohar, the foundational text of Kabbalah which was authored in the late 13th century, likely by Moses de León. It was then reinterpreted during the Jewish mystical renaissance in 16th-century Ottoman Palestine.
