<p>two different times in the 19th century, members of the Langhorne family owned Point of Honor. <a href="page.php?w=Henry_Scarsbrook_Langhorne">Henry Langhorne</a>, who owned the Langhorne Mills in Lynchburg, purchased it in 1828. Later, but still before the war, John S. Langhorne held the residence. His eldest son <a href="page.php?w=Chiswell_Langhorne">Chiswell Langhorne</a> became a wealthy industrialist, and daughter <a href="page.php?w=Elizabeth_Langhorne_Lewis">Elizabeth Langhorne Lewis</a> was a prominent <a href="page.php?w=Women%27s_suffrage_in_the_United_States">suffragette</a>.</p><p>
