Two events measured at the same time on a stationary clock occur at different times if measured on moving clocks. At speeds encountered in normal experience, the slow down cannot be observed. Near the speed of light the slow down is significant. At these relativistic speeds, many other physical effects can only be understood by including the effects of special relativity.
