<p>The objective of the combustor in a gas turbine is to add energy to the system to power the <a href="page.php?w=turbine">turbine</a>s, and produce a high-velocity gas to exhaust through the nozzle in aircraft applications. As with any engineering challenge, accomplishing this requires balancing many design considerations, such as the following:<br/>
