In 1924, <a href="page.php?w=Western_Electric">Western Electric</a> purchased a Scully weight-driven lathe to demonstrate their "Westrex" cutter head and electronics for both the Columbia Phonograph Company and <a href="page.php?w=Victor_Talking_Machine_Company">Victor Talking Machine Company</a>.
