<p>About 1851, Edmund was apprenticed to the wood-engraver <a href="page.php?w=Mason_Jackson">Mason Jackson</a> in London for seven years, and also trained under the watercolourist and illustrator <a href="page.php?w=Myles_Birket_Foster">Myles Birket Foster</a>.
