That phonotactic profile has been preserved in many words of modern Mota (e.g. salagoro  "secret enclosure for initiation rituals", ranorano  "<a href="page.php?w=Acalypha_hispida">Acalypha hispida</a>"), unlike surrounding languages which <a href="page.php?w=Proto-Torres-Banks_language">massively created closed syllables</a>.</p><p>
