<p>There are four types of non-directional beacons in the aeronautical navigation service:</p>

* En route NDBs, used to mark airways<br/>
* Approach NDBs<br/>
* Localizer beacons<br/>
* Locator beacons</p>

<p>The last two types are used in conjunction with an <a href="page.php?w=instrument_landing_system">instrument landing system</a> (ILS).</p>
