<p>From 1985, the new navigation was officially recorded in The Inland Waterways of Great Britain, noting that the navigation authority was then <a href="page.php?w=Wansbeck_District_Council">Wansbeck District Council</a>, which means that, since 2009, Northumberland County has held that role.</p>
