There were experiments with using the cards in arcade machines by Sega to build synergy effects between home consoles and arcades, but it never went far.

Similar but incompatible formats, also manufactured by Mitsubishi Plastics, were used by other computers and consoles: the Bee Card on the MSX, and the HuCard on the NEC
