<p>Nearly any <a href="page.php?w=statistical_model">statistical model</a> can be used for prediction purposes. Broadly speaking, there are two classes of predictive models: <a href="page.php?w=Parametric_model">parametric</a> and <a href="page.php?w=Non-parametric_models">non-parametric</a>. A third class, <a href="page.php?w=Semi-parametric_model">semi-parametric</a> models, includes features of both.
