Alexander Savelyev and Choongwon Jeong (2020) similarly state that Attila's name "must have been Gothic in origin." The name has sometimes been interpreted as a Germanization of a name of <a href="page.php?w=Hunnic_language">Hunnic</a> origin.</p>
