<p><big> Post Second World War </big></p>
<p>Following WWII, the U.S. Government required increasingly specialized equipment and services. This need combined with the experience of wartime spending and profiteering, meant a number of efforts to reform procurement and manufacturing. This can be seen in legislation such as the Selective Service act of 1948, Renegotiation Act of 1948, and the <a href="page.php?w=Defense_Production_Act_of_1950">Defense Production Act of 1950</a>.</p>
