<p>The Octave language is an interpreted programming language. It is a <a href="page.php?w=structured_programming">structured programming</a> language (similar to <a href="page.php?w=C_%28programming_language%29">C</a>) and supports many common <a href="page.php?w=C_standard_library">C standard library</a> functions, and also certain <a href="page.php?w=POSIX">UNIX</a> system calls and functions.
