<p>The earliest inventions pre-date anatomically modern humans. Crude stone tools, such as the <a href="page.php?w=Oldowan">Oldowan</a> tools, date back around 2.9 million years. Other inventions of the Lower Paleolithic era are rafts and cooking (which dates back to <a href="page.php?w=Homo_habilis">Homo habilis</a>).</p>
