<p>Modern usage more often applies to young women, contrasting with parthenos <i>????????</i> "a virgin (of any age)", and generically as <a href="page.php?w=Kore_%28sculpture%29">kore</a> (<i>????</i> < <i>?????) "maiden, girl". The term is sometimes used by women to address each other and remains the regular <a href="page.php?w=Modern_Greek">Modern Greek</a> term for "<a href="page.php?w=bride">bride</a>".</></p><p>
