The adhista divides the octave into two parts or anga - the purvanga, which contains lower notes, and the uttaranga, which contains higher notes. Every raga has a <a href="page.php?w=Vadi_%28music%29">vadi</a> and a <a href="page.php?w=Samavadi">samvadi</a>.</p><p>
