When this abuse of notation may be confusing, one may distinguish between structures by denoting e.g. the group of integers with addition and the ring of integers; by explicitly defining the topology, metric structure, etc. of interest on ; or by explicitly writing out tuples like and to distinguish between different topological spaces with the same underlying set.
