<p>Elasmotherium was first described in 1808-1809 by German/Russian palaeontologist <a href="page.php?w=Gotthelf_Fischer_von_Waldheim">Gotthelf Fischer von Waldheim</a> based on a left lower jaw, four <a href="page.php?w=Molar_tooth">molars</a>, and the <a href="page.php?w=Dental_alveolus">tooth root</a></p><p>
