In general the reason for the nests being near the ant is that it can provide protection against <a href="page.php?w=army_ant">army ant</a>s.  Nests for these wasps have been found on several plant species.  Each comb is covered by an <a href="page.php?w=envelope">envelope</a> and succeeding <a href="page.php?w=Honeycomb">combs</a> are built on the already made envelopes.</p><p>
