The town was rebuilt in stone rather than timber at least twice over the next 150 years. Occupation by the Romans ended between AD 400 and 450.

Remains of the Roman period

As well as the items in the museum, there are a few remains of the Roman city visible, including
* parts of the city walls. These originally surrounded the city apart from a section protected by the River Ver
* a hypocaust
