It appears to be raised in memory of a man who died in the retinue of the Viking chieftain <a href="page.php?w=Freygeirr">Freygeirr</a>. Pr 1 is also known as <a href="page.php?w=Ringerike_style">Ringerike style</a>, and this classification is used for inscriptions which depicts the serpent heads attached to the runic text bands in profile, but the serpents or beasts</p><p>
