Many of these communities are populated predominantly by <a href="page.php?w=Alaska_Natives">Alaska Natives</a> and are federally recognized as villages under the <a href="page.php?w=Indian_Reorganization_Act">Indian Reorganization Act</a> and/or the <a href="page.php?w=Alaska_Native_Claims_Settlement_Act">Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act</a>.</p><p>
