<p>The species Apium graveolens was described by <a href="page.php?w=Carl_Linnaeus">Carl Linnaeus</a> in Volume One of his <a href="page.php?w=Species_Plantarum">Species Plantarum</a> in 1753. Cultivated celery has been called Apium graveolens var. dulce or Apium graveolens Dulce Group.</p>
