Despite a popular belief that chocolate derives from the <a href="page.php?w=Nahuatl">Nahuatl</a> word <i>chocolatl</i>, early texts documenting the Nahuatl word for chocolate drink use a different term, <i>cacahuatl</i>, meaning "cacao water". Several alternatives have therefore been proposed.</p>
