<p>gold coins (rupya-suvarna), copper coins (tamrarupa) and lead coins (sisarupa) are mentioned. Rupa means form or shape, example, rupyarupa, rupya&nbsp;- wrought silver, rupa&nbsp;- form. This coinage system continued more or less across the Indian subcontinent well till 20th century.</p>
