More formally, a  <a href="page.php?w=measure_%28mathematics%29">measure</a>  on the <a href="page.php?w=real_line">real line</a> is called a <b>discrete measure</b> (in respect to the <a href="page.php?w=Lebesgue_measure">Lebesgue measure</a>) if its <a href="page.php?w=support_%28measure_theory%29">support</a> is at most a <a href="page.php?w=countable_set">countable set</a>.</p><p>
