<p><big>Complexity and application</big></p>
<p>For every <a href="page.php?w=context-free_grammar">context-free grammar</a>, a tree-adjoining grammar can be generated which accepts the same string-language. Thus, TAGs can generate all <a href="page.php?w=Context-free_language">context-free languages</a>; they can generate, as well, some--but not all--<a href="page.php?w=Context-sensitive_language">context-sensitive languages</a>.</p>
